Virtual Community Cinema

Hello everyone. Along with most events across the UK, community cinemas across the region are having to take the difficult decision to suspend screenings to ensure the safety of both audiences and volunteers.

We know that our audiences love to come together as a community to watch and discuss the films that our network of volunteers put on.

To encourage people to carry on talking about film and to connect with each other during a time of social isolation, Jo has suggested that we could all watch a film from the comfort of our homes and then get online or just phone a neighbour or friend and have a chat about it.

So each week we are going to nominate films from either the BBC iPlayer or Channel 4 On Demand for you to watch. It would be great if you could watch it on Friday each week for the grown up films, Wednesday afternoon for the children’s matinees or Tuesday for the Archive screenings (but as it is on catch up you can watch it when convenient) and then we will open up the discussion from Saturday morning.

Please pass this along so that as many people as possible can participate in the great Virtual Community Cinema.
